Networking overload

The dominating driving force of many peoples lives in the 21st century is the virtual world of social media however, not many people are aware of the side affects effecting many teenagers and young people.

Nearly 40% of teenagers carry a mobile phone on them all the time, causing slight anxiety brought on by the social media they are subject to.

Many specialists believe that the main sites Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram have the ultimate power to change the way teenagers and young people lead their lives.

As a result of is, no wonder why many people feel like they ‘have’ to go on these specific sites; the notifications popping up on the phone is a constant reminder of social networking sites everyday, brain washing the teenagers into going on these sites more often.

The worst affect of social networking sites is the condition ‘FOMO’ the fear of missing out on updates and important events, hence constantly checking the sites throughout day to day life. Many do this action automatically and without realising.

The FOMO anxiety arises from being neglected and isolated on the social media platform.
