Some schools make uniform changes during cold snap
MOST schools in the News Shopper area are open today with some relaxing their uniform policies because of the wintry weather.
Schools will only close if the headteacher has decided weather conditions are extreme, surface conditions make the site unsafe, or severe transport disruption prevents sufficient numbers of staff getting to school.
In cases such as Prendergast-Ladywell Fields College in Ladywell the headteacher Mrs Whitfield has decided the school can open but has relaxed the uniform.
Her pupils are allowed to wear boots and trainers during the cold snap.
And at Langley Park School for Girls the pupils are being advised to bring a pair of shoes to change into if they wear boots to get to the school in Beckenham.
