Bexley Athletics Club, despite having many of its under-17 members missing, still took a fine second place in the McDonald's league match, in Ipswich, on Sunday.
The outstanding performance again came from 12-year-old Jamie Keeble, who despite having nobody to push him, dipped under five minutes in the 1,500 metres to record a superb 4:58.6.
He was also part of the 4x100m relay team which won in 57.7sec, with Stefan Godden, who had earlier won the B-string 100m in 14.0sec, Ciaron Haynes and Michael Hobson.
For the under-15s, Alex Bates and David Humphreys won both long jumps with 5.20m and 5.06m respectively, while Pal Lillis improved his pole-vault to 1.70m to take the B-string, and Joe Allen, who ran a personal best in the 3,000m to win in 10 mins 17.3sec.
For the under-17s, Tony Brewer had a magnificent day with three personal bests to win the hammer with 36.54m, the discus with 35.79m and second place in the javelin with a throw 47.41m, while Jon Brunt won the B javelin with 43.02m.
Tom Clench scored his customary first in the 400m in 58.3sec, while Victor Barzey was a surprise winner with his first attempt at 400m hurdles in 63.1sec.
