Police are investigating claims that comedian Catherine Tate was targeted by a poison pen letter writer.
The 41-year-old star - best known for her "Am I bovvered?" catchphrase - is understood to have received "malicious communications" at her London home.
Police were thought to have been first alerted to the complaint by her husband, Twig Clark, in January.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that police received a complaint from a 35-year-old man on Sunday January 17 regarding malicious communications.
"Detectives from Richmond-upon-Thames are investigating."
Tate was said to have been left "chilled" by the letters, the Sun reported.
Catherine Tate, a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama and the Royal National Theatre, has appeared in programmes such as Barking, That Peter Kay Thing and The Harry Hill Show.
Since finding nationwide fame with her award-winning sketch show - The Catherine Tate Show - she has also appeared in Doctor Who.
