The last regular week of pool in the summer season of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance saw yet another honour go to Craig Mallinder.

Not content on becoming the Singles Champion last week, this time along with his partner James Sheed the pair from the George IV A defeated their fellow B team pairing of Terry Higgs and Jason Edwards 5-2 in the final of the SLKPA Pairs on Tuesday.

A flying start with a fine display of attacking pool by Mallinder and Sheed, gave them a commanding lead.

Yet a spirited fight back from 4-0 down by Higgs and Edwards looked possible as they put back to back frame wins together, however the champions stepped up the pressure to collect the trophy with two frames to spare.

The final placings in Tier 2 West were all sorted out on Thursday.

The Coach & Horses, already crowned champions, completed their perfect season, remaining undefeated all season, with a 3-0 win at Gallies.

Three teams finished on 25 points in an almighty scrap for bragging rights to third place.

The Billet Busters won 2-1 at Woolwich Catholic Club to steal the spot from them on frame difference with Lee Green Constitutional Club in fifth after their 3-0 win away at the Mitre.

Nick Grindley, Martyn Wallace and Steve Reed refused to lose any frames, helping the Kings Arms to defeat their near neighbours the Woodman 2-1 in the final regular league match of the season.

The registration window is now open for any new teams wishing to join the SLKPA with matches played on Thursday evenings.
