The winning Dartford squad celebrate after sealing victory and the title
DARTFORD District Swimming Club took a slim lead into the final leg of the Millennium League at Maidstone's Mote Park on Saturday.
Competing against teams from Maidstone, Whiteoaks, Eltham, Larkfield and Greenwich, the league has been fairly close this year.
Dartford had the luxury of a full strength squad for the first time this season at Maidstone and it showed.
Impressive individual swims kept the team in second place for the first half and when the relays began in the latter part of the evening, their might really showed.
A series of first places swept the other teams aside and left Dartford top with a clear 16 points lead, making them both winners of the gala and league.
Grace Ladley and Charlie Knight accepted the winners' trophies from league chairman Barbara Upton.
