PAUL Buttery of Kent Cycles achieved his first sub 22-minute time for 10 miles in the latest Gravesend CC evening 10 event.
His time of 21m54s was too good for former professional Reg Smith, who was timed at 22m12s.
Mark Davis was the first Gravesend CC rider with a time of 23m01s.
Other times were: D Edwards (Kent Cycles) 23m20s; Paul Williams 23m36s; Kevin Gleadow (Kent Cycles) 24m25s; Lee Willard (VC Elan) 24m55s; Mark Williams 24m58s; Graeme Moir 25m37s; Paul Hyde 25m47s; Keith Ward 26m08s; Paul Mepham (VC Elan) 26m49s and K Perry (Catford) 27m12s.
Williams rode well considering he had ridden the San Fairy Ann Cyclo Sportive the previous day and completed the 75-mile course in 3hr33m with an average speed of 21mph to earn a gold medal.
Gravesend riders were also active in a number of open events at the weekend.

Davis, Williams and Ward rode in the Wigmore CC 25-mile time trial and recorded respective times of 59m59s, 1hr04m15s and 1hr06m26s.
Andy Gibson and Hyde opted to ride in the Norwood Paragon 25-mile event in East Anglia and achieved respective times of 1hr02m16s and 1hr05m23s.
Gravesend CC were the organisers of the Kent Cycling Association's 10 mile event the previous weekend.
Ward was the only GCC competitor and was timed at 26m26s.
