UNLIKE the storms of which hit the event in 2007, the Kent county track and field championships at the weekend were favoured by warm sunshine and ideal conditions.
Some sizzling performances matched the temperatures at Ashford's Julie Rose Stadium.
County indoor sprint and hurdles champions Natalie Hickmott and Samatha Brown added to their sets of gold medals in the under-15 outdoor sprints and hurdles.
Hickmott had fine wins in the 100m and 200m, while Brown won the 75m hurdles and claimed the silver in the 100m with both athletes well inside the English Schools' qualifying standards.
Tim Billings, winner of 2007 under-15 javelin title, won the under-17 event with an excellent throw of more than 48m.
Under-15 competitor Robert Hammond came away with a complete set of medals in the following events: javelin (bronze), long jump (silver) and triple jump (gold).
Gold medals were also won by Claire Capon in the senior ladies' 100m hurdles, Adam Chalk in the under-17 high jump and Jack Fox in the under-20 triple jump.
