EBBSFLEET head coach Liam Daish was delighted with the response of his players on Monday night when they beat Cambridge United 2-1.
Daish's side had lost their last two league games at Histon and Stevenage since booking their place in the FA Trophy final on March 15, but victory over Cambridge kept the play-off dream alive.
The Stonebridge Road chief said: "Some people might have thought we were out of the running for the play-offs, but we still do have a chance after Monday.
"We didn't really play the game which suits our style at Stevenage and I was pleased with the way we bounced back against Cambridge.
"It was hard playing against 10 men, but we kept our patience and got the job done and got back to what we are really about.
"I wouldn't say the play-offs are beyond us by any means and I want us to be linked with them for as long as possible."

Daish handed a starting place to Darius Charles on Monday evening after the recent loan signing from Brentford came off the bench for the final 12 minutes of Friday's 3-1 defeat at Stevenage.
"It was an impressive full debut against Cambridge and he definitely gives me more options because we have three central defenders out at the moment," added the head coach.
"Darius is quite a strong lad and wants to play football and he has come here to get some games under his belt.
"He may not be the last person I bring in on loan either, we will just have to wait and see what happens."
Stacy Long committed himself to the Fleet cause this week by penning a contract extension which will see him remain at Stonebridge Road until the end of next season.
Daish said: "I'm pleased Stacy is staying because he is integral to us with his goals, set pieces and deliveries. It is great to have him on board."
Next up for the Fleet is a tricky trip to York City on Saturday, a side just one point and place below them in the table.
Daish saw York draw 1-1 with Northwich last night and is expecting a difficult encounter.
He said: "I watched them yesterday and have already had a report from another of their games so we have done our homework.
"It will be a tough place to go as they have been on a good run since appointing a new manager, but we've had some decent results up there in the past.
"We are a bit short of numbers at the moment as Sacha Opinel is suspended and James Smith (hamstring), Paul McCarthy (ankle), Liam Coleman (knee) and Chukki Eribenne (ankle) are all out."
