TONY Burman says there will be plenty of twists and turns in the race for the title between now and the end of the campaign.

Dartford saw their lead at the top cut to five points last night after AFC Sudbury beat Witham Town 3-2 and although his side are in fine form, the Darts boss accepts it isn't done and dusted yet.

He said: "There are quite a few teams who are still a threat, but the good thing for us is the fact we already have the points on the board.

"Everyone else has got to catch us, but there are some really big games coming up in the next month for all the sides up there and it isn't over by any means.

"We've got to carry on winning games and stay focussed on ourselves."

Dartford's latest success was an emphatic 5-0 win at Waltham Abbey last Saturday and the manager was more than pleased with the outcome.

Burman added: "It was a very good result away from home.

"I don't think they were the strongest opposition we've faced this season, but they did beat us earlier on and we had to do a job.

"We are playing well at the moment and nobody can take that away from us.

"Our scoring record speaks for itself and we continue to create chances.

"This is why I'm quietly confident we can our games coming up, starting with Waltham Forest on Saturday."

The league table would tend to indicate this weekend's encounter at Princes Park should produce another three points for the rampant Darts, but the manager is not so dismissive of the threat posed by struggling Waltham Forest.

Burman said: "They have one win and a draw from their last two games since appointing a new manager.

"You often get an upturn when someone new comes in and we have to be careful.

"It doesn't matter if we are playing AFC Sudbury or Waltham Forest, we still have to take it seriously and make sure we get the three points."

Jay May continues his suspension and Eddie McClements (knee ligament) is ruled out.

"I'm not going to rush Eddie back and we will assess him again tomorrow night at training, although it looks like he could be out for a few weeks," added the manager.

The search for fresh faces goes on after Burman revealed two weeks ago he was after a loan signing.

However, it has yet to bear fruit despite the best efforts of the manager.

He said: "I've made some phone calls but it hasn't come off yet. I'm not going to have people in just for the sake of it and I will bring in the right people at the right time.

"We've made our interest clear and will wait and see what happens."

Meanwhile, the club will unveil a fixtures board outside Princes Park ahead of this weekend's Waltham Forest game and Burman is hoping it will attract new fans through the turnstiles.

He added: "I'm delighted this is going up.

"A lot of people drive past the ground who might not be aware we have games coming up and now they will be able to see for themselves what is going on."
