ST Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School’s Year 8 football team are the Kent shield winners after a 5-0 final demolition of Canterbury Academy.

The competition, which attracted enties from more than 90 schools across Kent, saw both teams win six games to reach the final at Whitstable Town FC.

Eze Ebuzoeme fired a strong shot from the edge of the penalty area into the bottom corner to give St Columba’s the lead and the advantage was doubled just before the break by Finn O’Mara’s volley.

And further strikes from Onur Karakas, Ebuzoeme and Joseph Sylvester completed the rout for the Bexley team, who celebrated in front of their vociferous supporters at the final whistle to cap a great night for the school.
