BROMLEY High School’s Year 7 netball team have won the annual Kent schools’ netball championship.

With just under 60 schools from across the county taking part, Bromley High fought their way through many exciting matches, until they finally won a place in the final against Benenden.

A nail-biting game ensued and as the hooter went for the end of the match, Bromley emerged the 5-4 victors. They were presented with the shield and a medal.

Bromley High’s squad were: Ore Okikiade, Krista Moody, Lucy Lennard, Amaka George, Martha Jennings, Amelia Ward, Millie Bowes, Tamara Elliott, Olivia Tikare and Paige Macheath.

Sue Churchill from the school’s PE department said: “This victory follows our win at the U12 borough netball tournament last week, where we also won the final by one goal.

“Well done to all 10 members of the squad.”

Meanwhile, Bromley High School Year 8 student Sabrina Sinha, 12, won a bronze medal at the ESAA cross country championships.

She was beaten by two girls a year older than her, but still gained her first international England vest.
