COLFE’S School’s U14 netballers have become the best squad in London and the south east after winning all seven of their regional tournament in the national schools’ netball championships.
Having triumphed in the Kent schools’ tournament, the pressure was on for the team to perform when they travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre on Sunday.
But Colfe’s rose to the occasion with consecutive victories over Bancrofts (15-2), St Paul’s Girls School (7-2), Cranleigh (12-4), Sevenoaks (12-3), Tormead (14-6), Coopers Coburn (11-3) and Goldolphin & Latymer (12-4) to secure the regional crown.
Coach Miss Holder said: “The girls played superbly, winning all seven of their matches comfortably.
“By scoring 65 goals and conceding just24, they really were in a different league to the other teams.”
Director of sport Mrs Rayes added: “This is a truly inspirational team - successful, determined and quietly confident.
“They are all such lovely girls, good friends and have the full support of their parents who watch and cheer come rain or shine.
“I wish the team every success in the finals.”
