CHARLES Darwin School’s U14 girls’ football team are through to final of Kent Cup.
After falling behind early on in their semi-final at home to Walderslade, Mia Constantinou’s equaliser set up extra-time.
And with just five minutes to go before a penalty shootout, Constantinou again sent a shot flying into the top right hand corner to win the game.
Charles Darwin will now play Highsted Grammar School for Girls in the final.
PE teacher and team coach Alice Curwood said: “Support from the home crowd was amazing and the girls all showed great dedication to try and win the game.
“The whole team gave their all and should be extremely proud of their achievement.
“They now enter the Kent Cup final in a bid to retain their title from last year.”
