A SIXTH form student from Colfe’s school in Lee has been selected by the England U18 rugby squad.
Tom Chapman, from Lewisham, has been playing as part of the Saracens academy and was chosen by the England set-up to join 45 other boys at a summer academy at Harrow School.
The players were whittled down and 17-year-old Chapman made it into the 25-strong squad.
England’s first fixture will be a friendly against London Academies during half-term later this month.
Scrum half Chapman said: “I’m really pleased to have made it this far but need to continue to work hard in training in order to keep improving.”
Colfe’s head of boys’ sport Nick Miller added: “I’m very pleased and proud of Tom.
“He has certainly put Colfe's School back into the domain of regional and national representative rugby.
“Tom is certainly on track to win his full cap and we wish him all the best.”
