A LEE school is hosting its first invitational netball championships on Saturday, with 28 prep schools from around the country expected to attend.

Colfe’s decided to hold this inaugural event after the original finals were cancelled due to the bad weather earlier this year.

Hundreds of girls from the original qualifying teams will now get the chance to play against each other in a day long tournament, with schools like expected to attend.

Colfe’s Prep School teacher and the event organiser Mrs Jenny Pearson said: “We are honoured and delighted to be hosting this invitational event which will give the girls the opportunity to play against each other in a competitive but fun event.

“We are also very honoured to be joined on the day by talented Surrey Storm player Ash Neal, who will be giving out the winning medals alongside Colfe’s headmaster Richard Russell.

“We are also extremely grateful to Val Keable, who will be organising all the umpires.

“This is set to be a really fun event which I’m sure will include outstanding and competitive netball games.”
