Touch rugby comes to Kidbrooke

A TRAILBLAZING summer touch rugby league is being launched at the Samuel Montagu Youth Centre in Kidbrooke tomorrow.

The RFU-backed competition, which is a joint venture between Shooters Hill RFC and the Samuel Montagu Centre, will run until July 12.

Touch rugby is a scaled down version of the game designed to be fun while offering a chance to socialise and get fit.

There are squads of 10 players, with six on the pitch at any one time and roll on roll off substitutes.

Players must register at the Kent Rugby website (rfu.com).

Teams are of six players and there are competitions for age groups from 11 years upwards. Individual players are welcome.

Sessions start at 5.30pm and continue until 9pm and there is free parking at SMYC at 122 Broad Walk, SE3 8ND and at Shooters Hill RFC at Mayday Gardens SE38NP.
