Crystal Palace are planning an audacious transfer move for Celtic star Leigh Griffiths.

Palace need competition for their only fit senior striker Christian Benteke, who has only found the net once this season.

And Griffiths, who has scored 70 goals in 111 league appearances since joining Celtic in 2014, could be the answer to Palace’s striker shortage.

But the Daily Record reports that West Brom, managed by former Eagles boss Alan Pardew, are also keeping tabs on the Scotland number nine.

Griffiths has been in and out of Brendan Rodgers’ side since the arrival of Moussa Dembele last year - and could be open to a Premier League move.

Despite the Celtic manager’s constant rotation of the two strikers, Griffiths has netted 12 times this season.

The 27-year-old has a point to prove in England after a failed three-year spell at Wolves.
