Crystal Palace are targeting Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala, according to reports.
The Eagles were hopeful of bringing Mamadou Sakho back to the club on a permanent basis, however, Liverpool are not budging on their £30m asking price.
And it has led Palace boss Frank de Boer to turn his attention to Mangala, who is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium.
The Daily Mirror says Palace have bid £23m in a desperate attempt to land a centre-half before the transfer window shuts tonight.
Mangala joined Manchester City in a £32m deal in 2014, but has failed to hold down a regular starting spot.
And he could get more game-time trying to shore up a leaky Eagles defence that has shipped seven goals in four games this season.
