Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is set to return for their game against Crystal Palace.

Sturridge picked up a thigh injury in pre-season, but completed a full training session on Thursday.

When asked whether the England international is fit and available for selection, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “Daniel yes, I would say.

“Yesterday he was part of the complete session and looked really good, but always after injuries you have to wait to see how the player reacts to this intensity.”

Sturridge is likely to start on the bench against the Eagles, and will be a strong option to call upon if Liverpool need a goal.

Both teams are looking for their first wins of the season after the Reds drew 3-3 with Watford, while Palace lost 3-0 at home to Premier League new boys Huddersfield.

Eagles chief Frank de Boer will be without star man Wilfried Zaha after the winger injured his knee in the opening day defeat.

Barcelona-bound Philippe Coutinho will miss the Palace clash with a back problem.
