Crystal Palace will battle it out with West Ham to try to sign Manchester City whizkid Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho, 20, is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium and is expected to leave this summer.

The January arrival of Brazilian starlet Gabriel Jesus has pushed the Nigerian international further down the pecking order.

And the Mirror reports that Crystal Palace and West Ham want to sign the £20m-rated striker.

Both London clubs could offer Iheanacho first-team football - his last start in a City shirt came against Burnley in January.

West Ham cannot rely on injury-prone Andy Carroll and need a striker to last a whole season, while Palace want competition for Christian Benteke.

Iheanacho, who scored 14 goals in the 2015/16 campaign for City, would be a valuable asset to most Premier League clubs.
