Crystal Palace have the 10th most expensive squad in the Premier League, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

The study has collated the transfer fees paid by clubs in Europe’s top five leagues and revealed Manchester United come out on top with a squad worth £628.

Rivals Man City have the second most expensive squad in the top-flight at £532, while London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are at third and fourth respectively.

Palace, who enjoyed a productive summer window by signing Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend, Steve Mandanda and James Tomkins, are 10th with a cost of £131m.

CIES say Burnley have the cheapest squad in the Premier League, with the Clarets’ current crop worth just £48m.
