West Ham have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

And the Daily Mirror say Stoke City want to reach an agreement with the Dutchman, who has also been linked with Crystal Palace.

Van Persie left United for Fenerbahce last summer but is already considering a return to the Premier League.

The 32-year-old scored 16 goals during the 2015/16 season but was reportedly offered to London rivals Palace and West Ham earlier in the month.

Stoke’s chase for van Persie appears to have been boosted as the Mirror say West Ham have rejected the chance to sign the Netherlands international.

Mark Hughes, who has also tabled a bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, wants to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.
