DeAndre Yedlin believes Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie is the toughest opponent he has faced in the Premier League.

American defender Yedlin, who Tottenham bought from Seattle Sounders in August 2014, spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Sunderland.

The 23-year-old started 21 league games for the Black Cats as the club narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.

Yedlin is currently back in Seattle and when asked which player he has had most trouble defending against, the United States international said: “This might surprise people but I would have to say Bolasie.

“He’s so unpredictable with what he’s going to do with the ball and you know in your head he’s just going to try to humiliate you.

“With the ball, technically, he’s one of the best I’ve ever played against and he just does ridiculous things with the ball so I think he’s been the hardest to be fair.”

DR Congo international Bolasie has been one of Palace’s stand-out performers over the last two seasons.

He made over 30 appearances for Alan Pardew’s side during the 2015/16 campaign and has attracted attention from several clubs this summer.
