Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is nearing a return from injury but has been ruled out of the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.
The England international’s bright season was halted by a double leg break sustained last September during the Champions League clash at PSV.
United had hoped the 20-year-old left back would return during the current campaign with a FA Cup final just around the corner.
However, Press Association Sport understands the club are reluctant to rush Shaw back after his horrific injury.
The former Southampton ace underwent another operation last month and Shaw joined U21 training last week.
But he has not yet been able to join contact sessions and Press Association say he will not feature in United’s final league game of the season of the Wembley showdown.
