Former Crystal Palace midfielder Barry Bannan allegedly deleted a tweet trolling Charlton after the club suffered relegation from the Championship.
After a dismal season, the Addicks’ fate was sealed on Tuesday night as they failed to beat basement side Bolton Wanderers.
Bannan, who played 22 league games for Palace before leaving Selhurst for Sheffield Wednesday, was less than sympathetic to Charlton’s demise.
The 26-year-old took to twitter shortly after relegation was confirmed to say: “Hope you enjoy League 1 next season #karma @CAFCofficial”.
The Scotland international’s message may have been in response to an incident which happened earlier in the season at the Valley:
90+2 The youngster skilled up Bannan who fell over. He is currently being treated for embarrassment. #cafc #CAFCLive
