Joe Ledley insists the Crystal Palace squad are happy to welcome their new signing Emmanuel Adebayor as long as he doesn’t disrupt the “united” dressing room.

Palace will face Stoke City at Selhurst Park on Saturday for a place in the FA Cup fifth round, and Ledley is eager for the Eagles to put their league form behind them.

Alan Pardew’s side dropped to 11th in the Premier League after their defeat to Tottenham on Saturday, and Ledley hopes Adebayor will have the right impact on Palace’s fortunes.

“Obviously it is nice to have a new face,” he said after the Spurs defeat.

“If you ask all the players they’ll be happy with the squad we’ve got.

“It’s a fantastic squad, a lot of quality here but it’s just not happening at the moment.

“We’ve got a very strong dressing room.

“We’re all united and no-one’s better than each other so if he can come into the squad and be like that then we’re happy to have him.

“He hasn’t played for a while so we’ll have to wait and see.”

The Wales international wants Palace to focus on themselves again, but warned their top-flight opposition will be no pushovers.

“We just need to play our football now and get back to winning ways,” he added.

“It’s a fantastic competition to be in and Stoke are a good side so we need to be on it.

“It’ll be a battle. We need to play better than we did [against Spurs], get the ball down and create chances.”

Despite the Eagles failing to utilise home advantage in recent weeks – Palace’s last home win was against Southampton on December 12 – Ledley hopes the fans will get behind them at the weekend.

“Obviously it’s proving that we’re doing better away but it’s a great atmosphere and hopefully everyone’s going to be here,” he said.

Ledley, who reached the final with Cardiff City in 2008, is also hoping for an easier tie in the fifth round, should they get past the Potters.

“The FA Cup is always special, you want to be in the next hat,” the 29-year-old said.

“We’ll see who we get, we’ve been unlucky with the draws at the moment, we have had two Premier League teams but we’ve just got to go out there and give it our all.”
