Scott Dann says former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor would be a welcome addition to the Crystal Palace squad.

The Togolese forward has been a free agent since September when his contract at White Hart Lane was cut short by mutual consent.

Despite failing to find a club in the last five months, Adebayor has been training on his own and hopes to land a contract at another Premier League side.

The ex-Arsenal and Manchester City player hopes to revitalise his career in the top flight, with Palace believed to be weighing up a move as they look to bolster their attacking options.

“He is a quality striker and I am sure that if he does come to the club he will do a good job,” Dann told the Croydon Advertiser.

“I am sure whoever comes into the club, whether it is Adebayor or somebody else, in this squad they will always fit in.

“I have been in other changing rooms and this is a strong changing room.

“I know there has been stuff said about him in the past but I am sure he is a good lad. And if he does come to the club he will do a good job.”

Adebayor scored 18 goals in 59 league games for Spurs but fell dramatically out of favour with boss Mauricio Pochettino and was not named in his 25-man squad at the start of the season.

Tottenham also failed to provide the striker with a squad number with Pochettino clear that his future lied away from White Hart Lane.

Palace, who have failed to score a Premier League goal in five matches, hope to sign a forward this month.
