Premier League rivals Norwich and Aston Villa have joined the growing list of clubs hoping to secure the services of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, reports say.

Since announcing after last week’s draw with Swansea that he intended to terminate his Palace loan contract, several top flight clubs have signalled an interest in Bamford.

The 22-year-old former Championship Player of the Year struggled to break into Alan Pardew’s high-flying Palace and failed to start a single league game during a difficult loan stint in south London.

Despite his recent struggles, several clubs want to provide Bamford with another chance in the Premier League and Chelsea are believed to be hoping to offload their player for another loan spell.

According to the Daily Mail, Norwich and Villa are interested in acquiring Bamford on loan as both clubs search for more potency in front of goal.

The Canaries have made a solid start to life in the top tier of English football and last week’s crucial win over bottom-placed Villa extended their gap above the relegation zone to three points.

Middlesbrough are also said to be tracking Bamford following his successful stint in North Yorkshire last term.
