Louis van Gaal questioned Manchester United’s title credentials after Crystal Palace held the Red Devils to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Alan Pardew’s side were left feeling disappointing that they were unable to claim the three points after an impressive performance against the Premier League giants.

The draw capped off a disappointing week for United, who were held 0-0 to Manchester City last week and crashed out of the Capital One Cup after losing to Middlesbrough on penalties.

Dutch manager van Gaal, 64, questioned his team’s ability to contend for the title after the result.

“No, I am not happy because if you want to be champions, you have to win these kind of matches,” he told MUTV.

“Arsenal beat Swansea, for example. We lost against Swansea, even though we were the better team but they have beaten them 3-0.”

The point ensures United remain in fourth place, while the Eagles drop down to 8th after Liverpool’s 3-1 against reigning champions Chelsea.
