Dedicated Crystal Palace fans will travel more than 5,000 miles following the Eagles this season – spending almost £1,000 in the process.

Research conducted by JustPark reveals Premier League clubs and their supporters will travel a total of 119,000 miles this campaign.

The travelling mileage for Palace fans adds up to 5,382 miles, with the average supporter spending over 100 hours and £941 on the road.

Newcastle top the charts with an average round trip of 476 miles per away match and a total of 8,874 miles, while Aston Villa enjoy the shortest distances with only 4,464 miles to cover.

The Eagles’ longest journey will be when they visit St James’ Park in April – the 590-mile round trip to and from Newcastle taking over 10 hours.

These lengthy journeys will not only cost supporters their time, either, with the study calculating that Palace fans who drive to every game will splash out an average of £753 on fuel and £188 on parking.
