It’s been a few weeks since my last column and Palace have played twice since then, so I know exactly what you’re all thinking: I wonder how Harry’s fantasy team is doing?

Glad you asked.

Well, after a shaky start I decided to bring in Sergio Agüero to earn myself some extra points before City’s trip to Selhurst.

One of the best players in the world up against a defence riddled with injuries?

May as well use my triple captain on him, right?

End result: Scott Dann takes out Agüero and he’s off injured after 25 minutes.

I suppose that’s my karma for an absence of loyalty.

We ultimately lost the game 1-0, which on reflection doesn’t seem fair as we definitely deserved at least a point, but I suppose not taking our chances when they are limited is what’s going to separate us from the best sides.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored the goal and is the latest youngster to be overhyped by the media, so I hope he enjoys his 15 minutes of fame before the inevitable years of being loaned out and forgotten about.

But he’ll probably end up winning the Ballon d’Or now I’ve said that.

On the subject of overrated young players, Harry Kane was unimpressive on Saturday, and Tottenham were just about deserving of the win in what was easily one of the worst games of football I’ve ever been to.

I know we hit the post but we just didn’t create anything else and looked like we don’t have a Plan B when our wingers aren’t on form.

We can blame the performance on injuries to Dann and Connor Wickham all we like, but it was the same midfield that dominated Chelsea a few weeks ago and there was no creative desire.

My favourite thing about Palace under Alan Pardew is that even when we’ve lost, we’ve never rolled over.

We’ve always gone for it and attacked regardless of the opposition, but Sunday’s performance lacked a sense of urgency.

But Pardew will be the first to admit that we weren’t good enough and will have them really fired up for Watford on Sunday.

Hopefully we’ll get back to winning ways soon, starting tomorrow when we welcome our old friends from down the road for a little catch up.

Hey Charlton, long time no speak.

How have you been? Work treating you alright?

Wife doing OK? Kids behaving?

I’ve missed you, it seems like just yesterday you relegated us from the Premier League.

I’m glad that turned out OK for us both.

I’m joking, mainly because I’ve been asked not to be too mean about Charlton.

I’d love us to beat them purely because the pain of that game at The Valley in 2005 has never really gone away.

After being so excited about going to one of my first ever away games the day after my 11th birthday, it was all a bit too much for me to take and I’m still recovering.

What was Mikele Leigertwood thinking committing that foul?

Unnecessary and pathetic, I’ll never forgive him.

I bought balloons, baked a cake and had a street party the day we sold him.

At least I’m not bitter though, right?

Despite it just being a cup game, neither side will want to lose this so it will be interesting to see what sort of team each manager goes with.

Charlton haven’t won in their last four games so on paper it should be a routine win for us, but things are never that straight forward and it would be typical Palace for them to come and turn us over.
