Alan Pardew reckons Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie must keep his options open about a move away from Selhurst Park.

After a string of high-class performances in the Premier League last season, the Congo international has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Pardew readily accepts the inevitable interest from clubs wanting to tap into the 26-year-old’s maverick wing-play, however he is hoping that one of the options Bolasie is considering is to remain an Eagle.

He said: “Yannick is a player that will be linked with other clubs all the time as he is an exciting player.

“I didn’t think he was great against Arsenal [on Saturday] for a number of reasons, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be a match winner on Saturday.”

He added: “You have to keep your options open and I don’t have a problem with that, but the option at the moment is that he is very much a Crystal Palace player, he is loved by our fans and us as a management team.”

Glenn Murray is another Eagles player linked with a move away from the club, with interest coming from Bournemouth.

Murray was loaned out to Championship side Reading on deadline day in 2014, however Pardew recalled him from loan when the manager joined the club in 2015.

Happy ending: Glenn Murray started last season out of any Crystal Palace plans, but ended it back at Selhurst Park and among the goals

Murray rewarded Pardew by scoring eight goals in 17 games on his return to the club.

Pardew said: “He is very much our player and someone who I think has been brilliant for this football club and will be brilliant for this football club going forward if he remains our player.

“He has all the attributes you want as a striker in the Premier League.”

He added: “I have a good relationship with him. I was the one who bought him back from loan and gave him the games.

“As much as we owe Glenn, he owes us for the platform we gave him, particularly in the Premier League, where he came and did very well for me.”

The Crystal Palace manager also spoke about Dwight Gayle’s move to Championship side Bristol City falling through.

He said: “I don’t think Dwight Gayle had a flavour for going to Bristol City, that’s a player’s decision and we stand by that.

“He remains our player until such a time that another club put a bid in that we accept.”
