A BECKENHAM cricketer is departing for Tanzania tomorrow on the MCC’s final overseas tour of 2012.
Chris Isles, a Beckenham CC batsman, will represent MCC in two 50-over matches, two Twenty20 fixtures and a two-day game during the 12 day tour.
Included in the 15-strong squad alongside Isles are Ireland and Northamptonshire’s Niall O’Brien, Northants team-mate Matthew Spriegel and former Pakistan A all-rounder and Karachi captain Kashif Ibrahim.
The tour culminates in the two-day fixture against a Tanzania Cricket Association XI in Arusha on October 20 and 21.
MCC head of cricket John Stephenson said: “I am really pleased Chris has been selected for this tour, and I am certain he will be a great ambassador for the club.
“We have selected a strong touring party, including several players with first class and international cricket experience, so I hope the MCC team will provide challenging opposition and help raise playing standards amongst the Tanzanian players.”
