FANS of classic bikes will have plenty to celebrate at Brands Hatch this weekend, with club displays in addition to modern bike racing.

On circuit the British Motorcycle Racing Club has a busy race programme planned over both days, the only two-wheeled meeting outside of the British Superbike championship to take place on the Grand Prix circuit this season.

Displays in the paddock include classic bikes from the Sunbeam Owners Club, MV Augusta Owners Club, Triumph Owners Club, Moto Rumi Club, Velocette Owners Club and Bracbridge Nortons and many more planned.

There will also be a superb collection of machines from the Brooklands Museum which will also be taking to the track for lunchtime parades on both days.

A list of museum bikes on display is attached.

On the circuit, several of the club’s championships are in the balance as the season enters its second half.

Club bike racing is renowned for close action, capacity grids and packed timetables.

A staggering 42 races will be held over the weekend.

Club CEO Mike Dommett said: “The BMCRC are grateful to MSV for the unique opportunity that enables our club members to race on this world famous circuit.

“Let's hope for good weather and a great weekend's sport.”

Tickets for the BMCRC club bike championships at Brands Hatch on July 28 and 29 are available in advance from £10, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
