FOUR members of Dartford Harriers have been selected to join the 60-strong Kent team at the English schools championships in Gateshead this weekend.
Derek Aguma, 14, from Hextable School, runs in the junior boys’ 100m.
He has won silver medals this season for the 100m and 200m in the Kent AA, Kent schools and the schools inter-counties championships.
Naomi Orogun, 15, a pupil at Leigh Academy, will run in the inter-girls 300m hurdles.
She has won gold medals In the Kent AA, Kent schools and schools inter-counties championships.
Chelsey Eyers 16, from Dartford Tech College, is selected for the inter-girls discus and is ranked 13th in the UK with 35.94m, winning silver in the Kent AA, bronze in the Kent schools championships and silver in the schools inter-counties championships.
Dartford Grammar School pupil David Hall, 17, has been selected for the senior boys’ high jump.
He is the current Kent champion for the event and has also qualified for the senior boys’ schools decathlon championships in September.
Hall is ranked first in the UK for the decathlon and won the schools inter-counties decathlon championships in Bedford at the weekend.
