GRAVESEND Cycling Club’s Richard Bettaney has continued his success ways at Cyclopark with victories and a third place.

Bettaney has secured enough points to gain his senior category licence in only his first season of circuit racing, a significant achievement.

The manner of his victories was similar in that he broke clear of the bunch halfway through the hour long race, was then caught by two other riders, who then all worked together until the finish when Bettaney won the sprint.

In the race where the Gravesend CC man came third, he did not need to win to secure the points but helped the other two riders who he had beaten in the previous races.

Elsewhere in the 10-mile time trials held on the Grain course each Tuesday evening, in the first race Jason Tibbs won in 23m46s.

Other results: Mike Coulter 26m46s, Luke Harrington 26m54s, Steve Harrington 27m07s, Keith Ward (riding a fixed wheel) 28m07s and Mike Harrington 30m52s. The following week Luke Harrington timed 26m06s (a personal best), Coulter 26m45s and Ward 27m30s.

Last Tuesday Tibbs recorded 23m42s, Graeme Terry 25m54s, Coulter 26m46s and Ward 28m12s.

Andy Gibson has been riding the CC Bexley 10m TT on the A20 at Brands Hatch and recorded 24m30s and 24m12s.

Tibbs, Luke Harrington and Coulter rode in the San Fairy Ann 10m TT on the A20 in windy conditions with times of 23m43s, 26m55s and 27m30s respectively.
