THIRTEEN Dartford Harriers took part in the London marathon on April 22.

Although Andy Pickett, Stuart Inglis, Jacqui Murty and Keith Smith were running for the first time, the remaining nine already had many marathons under their belt, most notably Alan Bungay, who was completing his 14th London marathon at the age of 73.

Despite being new to the annual capital contest, it was Andy Pickett who became the first Harrier to cross the finishing line with an impressive time of 3hr01m.

Money was raised for a number of charities, including Help for Heroes and the Lily Foundation.

Results: Andy Pickett – 3.01, Dan Pyne – 3.09, Darren Smart – 3.35, Stephanie Wood – 4.08, Jenny Pritchett – 4.20, Sheila Pickett – 4.35, Stuart Inglis – 4.51, Janet Pyne – 5.14, Gilbert Webster – 5.27, Jacqui Murty – 5.47, Alan Bungay – 5.57, Keith Smith – 6.02, Paul Crowhurst – 6.32.
