Week two of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance summer season and the Pickwick’s poor start continues despite stealing a set from early pace setters Rileys Woolwich.

Rileys were just too hot for the Pickwick to handle winning the match overall by 12 frames to 3 but as Pickwick’s frames were all in the final set they managed to nick a set making the set score 2-1.

Tony Halpin won another three frames making it six in a row for him with Richie Mitchell also winning three frames including a break and dish.

Two of the other title contenders met at O’Connors where Rileys Hotshots were the visitors.

It was a fast paced match with the away team winning the first set five frames to nil but O’Connors won the next six frames to tie the match one all in sets but sneak ahead 6-5 in frames.

O’Connors went on to win the final set but lost the final frame decider to make the score 2-1 in sets but 7-8 in frames.

Adam Coppen, O’Connors Captain produced a magnificent break and dish in the second set to rally his troops with Danny Kelleher also performing a break and dish for Rileys.

Royal Oak started well in their local derby with Erith Snooker Master 8’ers by winning the first set 3-2 but Erith were inspired by Glen Bradstreet’s three out of three to win both of the next two sets 4-1, making the overall score 2-1 in sets and 10-5 in frames to Erith.

The Summerfield recovered from last week’s defeat by beating Bellegrove Social Club B 3-0 in sets and 11-4 in frames.

The first set was close with Summerfield just edging it 3-2 but they went on to win the last two sets 4-1 to secure the victory.

Adam Hewson and Sam Pope both won their three frames for the victors with Daniel Brown winning both his frames for Bellegrove B.

Beech Tree Nuthouse edged past Glenmore Arms II 2-1 and 10-5 to get their first points of the season with Craig Jones continuing his great form from last season in winning all of his three frames.
