GRAVESEND Road Runners ladies’ team of Annabelle Stearns, Mel Frazier and Claire Gaskill finished fifth in the England Athletics national marathon championships ladies’ team standings at the London marathon.
Stearns finished in 2hr58m51s, while Frazier (3hr00m39s) and Gaskill (3hr09m46s) both achieved new personal best times.
The club, with a membership of 50, were competing against teams from the biggest clubs in the country with many hundreds of members.
Eight Gravesend Road Runners represented the club in the marathon.
Other results: Glyn Morris (3hr38m38s), Rob Haigh (4hr00m56s), Kris Bearryman (4hr50m51s), Lee Rawlinson (4hr59m15s) and Dawn Granger (5hr22m06s, a new personal best).
