A YOUNG fencer from Bexleyheath is celebrating after winning an international U15 competition in France.
Laura Gladdish, 14, triumphed in the sabre final at Moneteau with a commanding 10-4 victory in the final.
The Blackfen School for Girls pupil, who also recently placed second in the British cadet U17 championships, fences at MX Fencing Club in West Malling and is coached by Phil Shepherd-Foster.
Mr Shepherd-Foster said: “Well done to Laura, she is the first British girl to win Moneteau in 15 years and we are all very proud of her.”
