In the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Division One Glenmore Arms A have jumped two places to fourth in the table after a big win against Bellegrove Sharks.

The whole team were in fine form as James Grant won all three of his frames, Jeff Kingman and Alistair Ladd both won their two frames and Paul Thomas won two of his three frames in the 12-3 win.

This victory puts them eight points behind second place and an automatic promotion place with a game in hand.

Glenmore’s other team, Glenmore Arms II took full advantage of Sharks defeat to go within three points of them at the bottom with an 8-7 win over New Eltham Social Club.

The victors captain Jason Brunton made it six wins out of six with his three victories here, giving his team their third win of the season.

Spare a thought for New Eltham’s Andy May who foul potted the black in the deciding frame to give Glenmore the victory.

There was also a good old fashioned last frame shoot out at the Beech Tree where the opponents were second placed Fox under the Hill.

The home side took a 4-1 lead in the first set but the Foxes came back with the same score line in the second set to make it 5 all.

Craig Jones and debutant Paul Saxton won their second of three frames for Beech Tree so they needed only one of the last three frames to win the match but Simon Evans won his third of the night, Jamie Walkey won his second of three and Richard Merricks took the decider and his second of three to win the match 8-7.

Another close game was played at top of the table White Hart where third placed Rileys Rovers were the visitors.

The division leaders took the first set 3-2 but Rovers won the next two frames to go 4-3 up.

White Hart then took the next four including two from Ernie Wellhausen to make it three on the night for him and the team one away from winning the match.

The next two frames went to Rovers including Steven Reed’s win over top of the rankings Alex Thompson, his second frame win of the night but Ian Cruwys won his third frame of the evening to seal the victory for White Hart before Ryan Francis won the final frame for Rovers, his third to make the score 8-7.

In the SLKPA Premier Division Rileys A took advantage of Rileys Woolwich free week by winning 9-6 against Our Lady of the Rosary to go eight points clear in second place, although Woolwich do have a game in hand.

At the top Brockleians extend their unbeaten run and the lead at the top to twenty points after they saw off fourth placed O’Connors.

Steve Krishnan and Sean O’Connor both finished the night with three out of three for the victors.

Second bottom Erith Snooker Master 8’ers leapfrogged Bellegrove Social Club A, although they are level on points after their 10-5 triumph against them.

Bellegrove won the first frame but Erith won the next seven, leaving them within one of victory, which they didn’t get until the thirteenth frame when Paul Williams won his third of the night and eighth straight frame in a row.

Amongst the Master 8’ers ten frame haul there were also first visit clearances from Kevin Hewitt and Glen Bradstreet.

In the remaining match the first two sets were shared between Brockleians Choppers and Pickwick making the score 5-5 but Pickwick won the next four frames to seal the win before losing the last to make the final score 9-6.

Pickwick’s Paul Gafa won all of his three frames while team mate Gary Mason produced two wonderful finishes that would have graced any championship winning team.
