A RUGBY player from Bromley spent a day on the training ground with Sale Sharks and England winger Mark Cueto at Bisham Abbey last week.
Michael Jones, 16, was one of 10 winners in a competition to earn a place at the finishing school for rugby wingers.
He was put through a number of training drills by Cueto and Premiership all-time leading try scorer and former Sale Sharks winger Steve Hanley.
Jones said: “It’s been a really good day and I’ve learned some hugely useful stuff, especially about collecting kicks and practising basic techniques to get really good so that in a game I have an edge over the opposition.”
Cueto took time out from his preparations with England for this autumn’s World Cup in New Zealand to pass on his expertise.
He said: “It’s great to be able to work with up and coming wingers and pass on some of the tips and advice I have picked up over the years.
“I wish Michael all the best with his future rugby.”
