A TOTAL of 20 Dartford Harriers ran the Whitstable 10k on a sunny but very blustery day.

Daniel Pyne came 5th overall in a time of 35.47 and our Ladies claimed the third team prize.

The ladies team comprised of Cara Oliver (41.59), Julie Hibbard (50.34) and Gill Skellon (51.51).

In the senior men's league division one meeting at Portsmouth, Dartford Harriers got the season off to a solid start with a hard fought fourth place following the double promotion to southern league division one.

Results: Portsmouth 124 points, Highgate 120 points, Newquay 101.5 points, Dartford 96.5 points, St Mary’s Richmond 94 points.

Dartford dominated the triple jump by winning the A and B string and there were wins also in the B string high jump and 200m.

Sam Dowler scored a hat-trick of personal bests with second in 400m hurdles B (65.8s), second in 110m hurdles B (20.7s) and 3,000m steeplechase A (11m 32s).

Mark Murison marked his comeback with second in 400m hurdles A (62.3s), fourth in shot B, javelin B and 110m hurdles A (10.04m, 34.64m and 18.8s), and second in 400m B (56.6s) before bringing home the baton third in the 4x400m relay (3m 45s). Paul Williams secured second place in the long jump B (5m79) and third in the high jump A (1m85).
