The only event that attracted runners from Istead and Ifield harriers on Easter weekend was the Folkestone 10 mile road race.
The race was held, as usual, on Good Friday on one of those rare hot April days. On one of the flattest courses in the country Joe Cumberland led home the club’s nine runners, finishing in 15th place overall from 480 who completed the race. Angela Hames was Istead’s first lady home finishing in 185th position.
