THE younger brother of Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is gearing up for his race debut at Brands Hatch next month after signing up for the Renault Clio Cup.

Nicolas Hamilton, 19, who has cerebral palsy, gained his national B racing licence earlier this year before signing with Total Control Racing for his maiden competitive campaign.

He said: “I have loved motorsport from a young age and watching my brother achieve so much has given me inspiration to make my own racing debut.

“I know this will not be an easy task but I hope my doing this will give inspiration to others who have challenges in their life.”

Hamilton will make his Clio Cup debut at Brands Hatch as the series supports the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

Tickets for the BTCC at Brands Hatch on April 2 and April 3 are now on sale from £25 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
