The final event of the Kent Cross Country League was held on Saturday at Parkwood School in Swanley. Istead and Ifield Harriers had a good strong squad out for the both the men’s and the ladies’ events where in the men’s race, Andy Archer was the club’s first finisher in 19th place, leading the men’s team to 5th place on the day. Over the season the I & I men’s team finished 7th overall, with the club’s best scorer being Ray Pearce.

In the ladies event second-claim member Claire Gaskill continued her excellent form, which has led to her being selected to run for Kent, by finishing in 6th place. The ladies team finished 4th on the day and 11th overall after the four events, the club’s highest scorer being Angela Hames in 13th position.

Elsewhere, Mel Moore and Lesley Irvine both took part in the Lydd Half Marathon with Mel leading home Lesley by 15 minutes, finishing in a time of 1 hr 52 minutes and 59 seconds.
