TWO senior athletes from Dartford Harriers took part in the British masters’ combined events championships at Lee Valley on Sunday.

Teresa Eades and Gary Capon both competed in the O50 age group, with Eades jumping in four events and coming first in all of them (pole vault - 2.30m, long jump 3.76m, high jump 1.27m and triple jump 8.77m).

Capon was making his pentathlon debut and placed a creditable sixth with 2,291 points.

His results were: 60m hurdles 12.02s, long jump 4.85m, shot put 8.42m and high jump 1.59m.

The Dartford Harrier was unable to finish in the 1,000m race because of cramp in his leg.
