KENT'S top motorsport driver has issued a catch me if you can call taunt to his rivals as he opened up a 68-point lead at the top of the Formula 3 championship.

Mike Conway, who drives a Raikkonen Robertson Racing Dallara Mercedes, won rounds 13 and 14 at Silverstone at the weekend making it seven victories for a season which ends with round 22 in October.

His main rival, Brazilian Bruno Senna, settled for second in round 13 and eighth in round 14.

In round 13 Conway did not enjoy the best of starts and slipped to third spot.

By Stowe, Conway had slipped inside fellow Brit Oliver Jarvis to take second, immediately followed by a heroic move to take Senna and the lead.

Pole position man and hot favourite Bruno Senna drove a strong race to hold on to second position but was losing ground on Conway in the early stages as the Briton set some storming laps to secure a demanding early lead with a 5.4secs lead by lap six.

By lap eight, Senna had set the fastest lap and reduced the gap on Conway to 3.5 seconds.

On lap nine the safety car was deployed to manage a number of trackside incidents and, as a result, bringing the pack closer together again.

But it was not going to help Senna as Conway held his nerve to win.

He said: "It was a great race.

"I got a little bit of a bad start but managed to hold a steady line down to Stowe and take Bruno at Club and move onto a big lead initially and hold it.

"Then the safety car came out and when it went in I got a good re-start and managed to control the lead until the end."

In the second race Conway battled it out with Denmark's Christian Bakkerud and they crossed the line side-by-side on the penultimate lap.

But Conway moved away to clinch the race by 0.311secs .
