FORMULAR One legend David Coulthard will get behind the wheel again at Brands Hatch later this year.
The BBC commentator has already confirmed he will compete in the DTM German touring car championship, which makes its only UK visit to Brands in early September.
Coulthard, who retired from Formula One in 2008, notched up 13 Grand Prix victories during his 15-year career in the world championship and he also holds the record as the British driver with the highest number of F1 points to his name.
He will race a Mercedes C-Class this season in DTM, joining three familiar names from the F1 paddock who have already confirmed their return to the manufacturer in 2010.
These include former Toyota driver Ralf Schumacher, Force India reserve pilot Paul di Resta and McLaren test driver, Bromley’s Gary Paffett, all of whom will run latest-spec machinery.
Coulthard said: “I have always enjoyed the exciting DTM races, both as a TV viewer and at the race tracks, and I am sure I will feel the same now as a driver.
“I am, of course, aware of the fact racing within this competitive field will be very challenging in the beginning.
“However, I am a racer who looks forward to the competition.
“I particularly look forward to returning to racing with my long-time friends at Mercedes-Benz and I am proud to be at the same time an ambassador for Wings for Life, the spinal cord research foundation of Red Bull.”
Tickets for the DTM German touring car Championship at Brands Hatch between September 3 and September 5 cost from £24 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
